Phyllostachys bambusoïdes 'Castillonis'

> Hardiness: to - 16°C or - 22°C
Height: 7 m

This bamboo flowered for the first time in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century. It almost disappeared after the 1964-65 flowering.
It is a very attractive bamboo but like all the Phyllostachys bambusoïdes, it is less hardy.
It is particularly sensitive to drying winter winds.
Its culms are deep yellow with green sulcus. Even in the shade, its colours remain bright.
It prefers sunny places sheltered from the winds.
It is non-invasive (clump-forming).
