Its vigorous leaves have creamy white stripes and have different green colours.
Its foliage is very dense.
The culms grow upright.
It is not invasive (clump-forming) except in light soils.
It is better to cut it back to ground level every year in March.
It can grow in any conditions except in full sun.
In shade, its stripes are not so marked.
